The 2012 series of episodes of the Internet Business Blue Podcast begin

The 2012 season of the Internet Business Blueprint podcast begins on Monday February 13th and this year will include an expanded schedule and several special series that will add value for my listeners. In addition, recordings of the podcast will be added to the Internet Entrepreneurs Academy audio library and re-purposed across other platforms.

The content and topics for 2012 will be consistent with what listeners have come to expect and enjoyed over the past 171 episodes of the podcast dating back to 2009. Listeners will learn about Internet marketing, affiliate marketing, viral traffic generation, automated website promotion, social media best practices and how to create multiple income streams online.

One major change this year will be a greater emphasis on expert interviews with online business leaders and content developers. The feedback from past interviews has been tremendous and there are so many amazing people across the web with value to share to help you grow personally and professionally.

Traffic Exchange Marathon 2 Announced

Please save the date for the Second Annual Traffic Exchange Marathon Podcast Series begining Monday September 26th and concluding on Friday October 7th - featuring two episodes each weekday. I am changing the format slightly this year as we will feature interviews with traffic exchange owners, safelist owners, and a few surfers. We will cover the full spectrum of topics impacting the traffic exchange industry including owners issues, social surfing, advertising best practices, scripts, technology, and more.

In 2010 we featured 10 owners over a 5 day period of time with 2 bonus interviews. This year we will feature 14 traffic exchange owners, 4 service related program owners, and 2 surfers. I will be sending out the guest invitations this week and I will announce the speakers / presenters as I confirm our guest. Perry Belcher effectively retired from Internet marketing in 2009, yet that which he and Ryan Diess created during their collaboration has continued to impact marketers around the world. I have spent much of the past few weeks evaluating what worked in my business in 2010 and what needs more of my attention. In addition to completing the standard analysis, where did my traffic come, what is the profile of the customers I attracted, which marketing efforts provided the best results, etc., I also looked at a few intangibles.

I looked back to see what training programs I was able to gain the most value from and which provided me with actionable content that resulted in moving my business forward. I was actually a little surprised by how much I gained from re-listening to “Automatic Daily Income” and “Getting Money From Google,” I purchased both of these courses a longtime ago and found them worth coming back to again and again.

I also gained alot from my personal interactions with Perry Belcher – I interviewed him for my Internet Business Blueprint podcast on the eve of his final product launch with Ryan Diess in 2009. During the lead up to that program, I had a couple of great telephone conversations with Perry from which I gleaned several golden nuggets on marketing and social media. The lessons from those conversations contained principles that I still teach today.

Perry’s exit from the scene was pretty swift and I am not sure if I took the time back then to let him know how much he helped me. His impact is still evident in my business and I wanted to take a moment to say thank you, to put that sentiment out into the universe and vow to pay it forward.

Perry Belcher, retire in peace (R.I.P.) and may you have success in the next chapter of your journey. One of the things I like most about Perry is that he was always open and honest about his mistakes, shortcomings, and limitations. As confident and powerful as he is, he is also aware that like all of us, he is a flawed human being. I know that I am and so the same may be said for you. It really doesn’t matter as long as you strive to become better, add value for other people, and leave your mark on the world in a meaningful way.

In retrospect, I not only learned allot from Perry about business, I also learned about life and how to confront it head on. So by sharing this interview I hope that you will gain by one or two golden nuggets that will help you to breakthrough to a higer level of achievement.

List building is largely a numbers game but many marketers forget that quality matters when it comes to earning revenue with your list. If you want to monetize your subscriber list you must first provide real value for your members for free and then within your funnel convert those subscribers to buyers.

The basic formula that I teach to achieve our objective is simply offering visitors to your websites and blog sites a high value item free as a reward for opting in, I refer to this as an ethical bribe. Keep in mind that this is a reflection on your brand and for your future customers it is their first sample of the quality and value you provide. As a result you want to give away some of your BEST information. If you give your new subscribers cheap or low value products and information, they have no reason to pay for what they will perceive to be more of the same. When you provide high value information as a free gift and continue to provide quality content through your auto-responder messages, you begin to build trust by establishing your expertise and you create a desire in your subscriber to obtain more of your content and a willingness to pay for the value they receive.
