Please take a moment to watch this video which I just recorded as a result of more than 20,000 site inquiries, dozens of text messages, phone calls, and Skype messages concerning the mass shootings at the Batman premiere for “The Dark Night Rises” in Aurora Colorado. The suspected shooter who the police have in custody is named James Holmes… resulting in an impact on my personal and professional brand which is my name.
My birthday is coming at the end of November and I have been thinking about doing something really audacious, a real BIG HAIRY AUDACIOUS GOAL (BHAG) to both celebrate my birthday and grow my businesses. I have long considered myself to be a big thinker… I am saying this for no other reason than to point out that big means BIG!
So, what am I giving myself for my birthday? How about one new income site a day for 30 days… yes, thirty new sites designed to provide value for my customers, subscribers, and followers. I am pulling together 30 of my best unused domain names and a couple that I picked up from the best aged domain source and putting sites on them in November.
I am a big believer in the idea of practicing what I preach and I preach two core concepts, think big and take one daily action that brings you closer to your ultimate goal. As I thought about what I could do to make the month special (I usually don’t), I felt that this would be the best way to provide value for others, lead by example, and advance 30 steps closer to my ultimate objective.

I was interviewed by Elysse Curry author of “How to Get the Real Deal Without Getting a Raw Deal.” I was her inaugural guest for the “Spotlight on Business Professionals” podcast. we discussed a wide range range of topics on how to achieve Internet marketing success. I recently received some nice comments regarding the interview and the content we provided. I thought it might be of interest to my readers and I hope you take away at least one great idea that will become actionable in your business today.
I was cleaning up my in-box today and came across a questions I get at least once per week; “excuse me, are you James Holmes who wrote all those great books on Java Programming?” – this guy is pretty famous! So I decided to write a blog post about the other James Holmes and answer the question in advance for future visitors.
The other James Holmes is an authority on Java Web development and has authored many books on the subject. He is a committer on the Struts project, and the creator of the most popular Struts development tool, Struts Console. Additionally, Oracle Magazine named him “Java Developer of the Year” in 2002 for his work with the Struts framework and Oracle JDeveloper.
The other James Holmes is an independent consultant who employs his expertise consulting for complex transactional environments whose clients include ADP, Bank of America, IBM, and UPS. James also provides training and mentoring services in addition to his regular consulting and speaking engagements. Like me… the guy is busy!
