I Love Joint Ventures and So Should You. Are You Ready To Be Loved Back?

Internet marketing is an easy business to get into but creating a consistent income and sustainable business requires planning, patience and a long-term point of view. One of the key ingredients is identifying like-minded people who share your values and are committed to helping you grow your business as you help them grow theirs. When people come together to co-develop a product, enter into a marketing agreement or co-op advertise, tremendous leverage takes place and everyone especially your customers benefit in the long-term.

These types of relationships are often identified as “Joint Ventures” or JVs and I love them having utilized them to make quantum leaps in my business over the years. Effective joint venture partnerships when done properly can be more powerful than list building, paid advertising, social media and many other non-personal types of marketing.

I want to give you a few key points to consider when creating joint ventures in addition to a few mistakes you should avoid to ensure your joint ventures produce the results you are seeking. Follow these guidelines and you too will be empowered to develop lifelong friendships, high trust partnerships, deliver tremendous value to your customers, and advance your business to the next level.

What is the Traffic Exchange Summit?

Have you heard of the Traffic Exchange Summit? If you haven’t and assuming you are somehow connected to the traffic exchange industry as an owner, advertiser, or surfer – you soon will. The summit was born out of a desire among a large group of traffic exchange enthusiast to find ways to improve our industry and move traffic exchanges into a position of broader acceptance across the entire Internet marking and online advertising niches.

I wanted to provide you with a complete introduction and invite you to join in this effort. These is a role for anyone who uses traffic exchanges and overtime, I believe that this movement will produce real results for everyone involved and support the industry as a whole.

Here is an interview that was conducted by William Brant for Affiliate Funnel, I was asked to participate as a guest for a recent Affiliate Funnel Training webcast and we focused exclusively on the Traffic Exchange Summit and the funny and random way in which it was started.

Perry Belcher R.I.P.

Perry Belcher effectively retired from Internet marketing in 2009, yet that which he and Ryan Diess created during their collaboration has continued to impact marketers around the world. I have spent much of the past few weeks evaluating what worked in my business in 2010 and what needs more of my attention. In addition to completing the standard analysis, where did my traffic come, what is the profile of the customers I attracted, which marketing efforts provided the best results, etc., I also looked at a few intangibles.

I looked back to see what training programs I was able to gain the most value from and which provided me with actionable content that resulted in moving my business forward. I was actually a little surprised by how much I gained from re-listening to “Automatic Daily Income” and “Getting Money From Google,” I purchased both of these courses a longtime ago and found them worth coming back to again and again.

I also gained alot from my personal interactions with Perry Belcher – I interviewed him for my Internet Business Blueprint podcast on the eve of his final product launch with Ryan Diess in 2009. During the lead up to that program, I had a couple of great telephone conversations with Perry from which I gleaned several golden nuggets on marketing and social media. The lessons from those conversations contained principles that I still teach today.

The bottom line is that I was right, the slaps continued in 2010 and many marketers abandoned or should I say were forced to find alternatives for their pay per click campaigns. Many marketers chose Facebook and the bottom line is they were right.

After watching the first video I posted the following comment to the accompanied blog and it sums up my impressions of the video and all that is to follow in the series. I recognize the value and impact of Facebook’s emergence and I also see the opportunity it represents. Regardless of where you are in the development of your social media strategy, I would heed the advice of those who conquered the last frontier, Google’s AdWords program.
