A few months ago I heard that a well established website hosting company known as Kiosk Hosting was going to be launching a new network marketing company called Global Virtual Opportunities or GVO. I also learned that they were doing so with the support of many of the biggest names in Internet marketing including Mike Filsaime and Frank Kern among others. Back up your email account as a best business practice

I have a lesson from the field that will save you from losing access to your email if your domain host goes offline or another calamity visits your desktop. Here is what happened. I was working with one of my traffic services clients last night to help him get an e-commerce site online overnight in a pinch. So it was about one in the morning and we decided to transfer his DNS Settings for his domain to a new host and FTP the site. What we hadn’t considered is that his email would go offline until the transfer process was complete quoting 24 to 72 hours. The problem is that he is receiving between 30 to 50 new order per day through email – yikes!

So with every challenge come a solution and a new idea is born – right? So, I got to thinking, what if you set up a Gmail account that you could use as a fail safe for your primary email- you can set up the account and then make one simple adjustment to your primary email client. Log into your primary email account and edit your email profile by adding your new Gmail account address as a carbon copy address.

Now, every time you get an email one will also be sent to the Gmail back up account. If you have a mishap, system failure, or need an email that has been deleted from your primary account you simply log in to your back up account and retrieve your messages. Then all you have to do is log in there once or twice a month and purge the in-box.

There you have a free, reliable, user friendly way to add a little safety net and avoid that sinking feeling if your web host goes down or you pull a stunt like we did.

The timing and early release of the latest edition of Perry Marshall’s very popular book ”The Definitive Guide to Google Adwords 2010 Edition” couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. I recently conducted a training on auto-responders and list management on my “Internet Business Blueprint” podcast. During the training I spent a considerable amount of time making the case for carefully choosing your auto-responder company because moving a large list from one host to another can result in you loosing a large percentage of your subscribers. Most reputable host will not allow you to upload a large list in bulk into their service without confirming their opt in and a large percentage of people will not re-opt in to your new list.

I have a series of list that consist of the members of my network marketing team and prospects who are in my network marketing funnel, these prospects haven’t decided to join me, but they still want to benefit from the content and resources that I provide to my list. I am experiencing amazing growth in my business funnel and it is time to consolidate my list to one host, as a result I now get to live my lesson and move a mid-sized list.

After surveying a portion of my list I became convinced that I needed to get creative and made a decision to reward my list. So I came up with the idea of giving away a large collection of high value digital products to my list to compensate their time and effort to come into the new list, essentially just accepting an email invitation from me. I guess you can say I am paying them $1,000 for 5 seconds of effort, I do believe in delivering exceptional value.

I am not a fool, my primary business pays a $2,000 commission when a new person enrolls into my business, so if I lost just 10 prospects that eventually would have joined me, I just added $20,000 to my income by keeping them in my funnel. So every one wins!

As I went through my product vault sorting out the products for which I own a “giveaway” rights license, I realized that I had something very special to offer. I thought about how much value each these members would be receiving and how many of them could see their businesses grow to a whole new level by putting the software, e-books, special reports, MP3 audio files, and videos to use.

My concluding thought was to share the package with my entire list, so you are already going to receive the package if you are subscribed to my mailing list, you will be getting the entire package. If you are not, I have good news for you as well.

This morning after my podcast I decided to throw the doors of my vault wide open in order to give access to anyone who enters into my list during the month of August and it is not likely that I will do something like this again in the future.
