A Must Have Tool For Conference and Workshop Attendees: LiveScribe Pulse Smartpen

I attend a large number of conferences, workshops, training events, and tele-seminars every year and I am a voracious note taker. It would not be unusual for me to complete 30 pages of detailed notes at a day long conference or a complete notebook at a weekend event. I know allot of people who do not like taking written notes and prefer to use a micro-audio recorder to tape events and transcribe later, which is a very time consuming task. Well, I was introduced to a great new tool to satisfy the needs of individuals in both camps plus it is just plain cool!

Livescribe Pulse Smartpen

Introducing the LiveScribe Pulse Smartpen a tremendous tool that allows you to simultaneously take written and record audio notes instantly with one device that weights a mere 1.3 ounces. When I saw this the first time I could believe the concept and the ease of use makes this a powerful tool to make the most out of your written notes and transcriptions.  I am exploring how to use this tool and the high quality audio to make new information products seemlessly.

Here is how it works; the Livescribe Pulse Smartpen records audio and links it what you write as you write it, so it tracks along for replay at a later time. If you missed something you simply tap on your notes or drawings with the tip of your Pulse Smartpen and the audio for that specific portion of your notes is replayed so you hear what was said while you were writing. There are a variety of ways you can then use the recorded data; transform your written notes and audio into interactive movies or upload your files online to share on a numbner of platforms.

If you are an information marketer consider the ease at which you can transform a presentation into a information product with very little editing for easy distribution as an interactive FLASH, PDF of audio file.

I am always looking for new and innovative tools to utilize in my business and share with my associates and readers. Please feel free to share your comments and let me know if I can answer any questions for you. This is truly a unique and useful tool that I would have expected to pay more than $199.95 for the 2 GB model; there is also a $149.99 1 GB model available as well.

Definitely planning to use this for IM. FYI the Livescribe echo is now available, it is an update to the pulse and accepts a standard mini USB connection. It is also oval in shape.
